Macau Airport Lounge Review: Late-Night Plaza Premium Lounge
On the day we wrapped up our Macau trip and headed home,
we flew Korean Air round-trip between Incheon and Macau.
Since our return flight was in the middle of the night,
we needed a lounge where we could check in and wait comfortably.
So we ended up at the only lounge in Macau Airport,
the Plaza Premium Lounge—and here’s my late-night review.
Macau Airport is very small overall.
By the time we arrived at the airport late at night,
I was already pretty tired, and then came the even more draining news:
our flight was delayed.
We fly Korean Air most of the time,
and lately it feels like there’s always some kind of delay.
Anyway, after check-in we took a quick look around the duty-free area,
but it was tiny too, with honestly not much to see.
So we headed straight to the Plaza Premium Lounge.
For the lounge location and general access info,
you can refer to the airport signage,
but it’s on the second floor after security,
near Gate 9, and it’s easy to find.
Opening hoursseemed to vary depending on where people listed them,
but when I checked Google Maps and The Lounge app,
both showed the same hours: 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day.
So 05:00–02:00 is probably the correct schedule.
Also, showersweren’t listed among the available services,
so it looks like this lounge does not have shower facilities.
You can enter with a Priority Pass or through The Lounge app,
and if you’re paying out of pocket,
it costs 460 MOP for 2 hours or 690 MOP for 5 hours—
about $57 and $86 respectively.
That’s pretty expensive if you’re paying cash,
but even if you don’t have a Priority Pass or a pass in The Lounge app,
you can usually get in for less by buying a ticket in advance.
KKday, Klook, MyRealTrip and similar platforms
all sell Macau Airport lounge passes,
so you can book access ahead of time.
Based on the prices I checked, Klook was the cheapest.
That said, depending on your account,
coupons and promo codes can change the final price,
so
it’s best to compare all three and book whichever one is cheapest for you.
Considering the size of the airport, the lounge was actually quite spacious.
It had everything from comfy sofa seating to dining tables,
plus group seating and even a small kids’ play area—
a surprisingly well-equipped Plaza Premium Lounge at Macau Airport.
There was also a separate MGM Members Lounge section
tucked farther inside,
and it made me wonder whether I could have used it if I’d signed up for an MGM membership earlier during my Macau trip.
It was completely empty, so maybe not many people know about it.
If you’re still in Macau and happen to be reading this,
it might be worth stopping by an MGM hotel to ask whether registering for the membership
gives you access to the airport lounge members-only section,
and signing up if it does.
Now, let me show you what the late-night food spread looked like.
There was coffee, tea, and alcohol like beer, whisky, and vodka,
and the fridge had a nice selection of fruit and vegetables too.
There was bread and a few pastries as well,
but since it was late at night and close to closing, the selection wasn’t being refilled much.
Next up: the hot food section.
There were several options, including meat, rice, and noodle dishes.
Since I planned to get on the plane and sleep right away,
I didn’t actually try the food myself,
but from other reviews I’d read, the food here is supposed to be pretty decent.
They also make noodle dishes to order, and when I looked around, a lot of people were ordering them.
Because of the flight delay, we ended up spending about two hours
in the lounge, and since it was so late at night,
I honestly think waiting would have been much harder without the Macau Airport lounge.
We found a comfortable seat, rested quietly, and left feeling much better.

Once we got on the plane, I was so sleepy
that I skipped the in-flight meal and slept the whole way home.
