Lester Coffee Review: Stylish Café With Parking in Nago, Okinawa, Japan
I stopped by Lester Coffee for a quick coffee break in downtown Nago, and this Nago Okinawa cafe ended up being such a good find.
If you’re looking for a cozy Okinawa-style café in Nago, Japan, this one has great coffee, easy parking, and a warm, relaxed vibe.
I’d seen so many reviews saying the coffee here was excellent, so I came in with high expectations.
Nago Okinawa Cafe: Parking, Atmosphere, and First Impressions
Just look for the blue striped sign out front.
There’s a dedicated parking lot behind the building, which makes it really convenient if you’re driving.
Out of all the spaces there, only the four spots marked “coffee” are reserved for the café.
That’s the part to watch for when you park.
Anyway, after parking, we were about to head in when we realized there were no seats available.
It must be a pretty popular café, because every table was taken.
We sat outside for a bit and waited, but a spot opened up faster than I expected.
Inside, the space felt cozy and pretty in a way that reminded me of stylish Korean cafés.
I really loved the interior.
Ever since having a baby, I haven’t had many chances to visit cafés with this kind of mood, so it honestly felt like such a treat.
It’s not a huge café, just a modest space with this many tables.
At one point the crowd cleared out all at once,
but after lunch during peak time, it gets absolutely packed like this.
It looks like they roast coffee too, because they also sell whole beans.

The drink selection isn’t huge, but it covers the basics well.
They also serve simple food if you want a light brunch.
One thing to note: they don’t allow people to work on laptops or tablets here.
This is more of a place to relax and actually talk with the people you came with.
They had the small desserts displayed off to the side so you could see the real thing before ordering.
We’d already had a very filling sushi meal, so we skipped dessert this time.
Filter Coffee and Beans at This Nago Okinawa Cafe
Since they serve filter coffee, they’ve set things up so you can smell the beans first and choose the one you like best.
I loved that detail.
The filter coffee was just 550 yen, which is about $4, and honestly a great deal.
If you buy two bags of beans, you get one free cup of coffee.
The beans were reasonably priced too, around the low 10,000 won range per 100g, so roughly $8 to $9.
That makes them a nice souvenir to bring home if you’re into coffee.
There are also lots of cute little details hidden around the space.
We grabbed the table tucked all the way into the back corner.
Even my parents, who are in their 60s, really liked Lester Coffee.
There was also a self-serve water station right next to our table.
And there was a restroom too.
It’s a single unisex bathroom, but it was clean.
I can’t remember which beans we picked, but we started by ordering two cups of drip coffee.
One of the saucers had a small chip on it, but honestly, no big deal.
I also got a latte.
A lot of reviews said the latte here was especially good, and after trying it, I totally get why.
It was genuinely delicious.
It’s hard to explain, but when coffee is really good, there’s just something unmistakably different about it.
The latte art was beautiful too, which made it even better.
Meanwhile, our little one woke up after napping in someone’s arms.
She had all four adults completely wrapped around her finger, soaking up every bit of attention and love.
Too cute. My daughter is the best.
While the adults enjoyed their coffee, the baby had a snack too.
We rested there for about 40 minutes and left feeling nicely recharged.
I wouldn’t say it’s a place worth making a huge detour for,
but if you’re already eating in northern Okinawa or have something to do nearby,
I definitely recommend stopping by Lester Coffee for a cup.
Parking is easy, the atmosphere is lovely, the owner is kind, and most importantly, the coffee is really good.
