Sofitel Macau’s Club Millésime lounge, afternoon tea, breakfast, and happy hour

Following up on my room review, here’s a look at the executive lounge:

To use the lounge, you’ll need to
book a Club room,
or have Accor membership with Platinum status or higher.
Even if you don’t have elite status at Sofitel Macau,
the Club room rate usually isn’t outrageously expensive,
so if you’re planning a proper Macau hotel stay,
I definitely recommend booking a Club room.

Club Millésime is on the 17th floorof the hotel,
and guests with lounge access
can check in and check out here
instead of going through the main lobby on the 1st floor.
Club Millésime hours
If you have lounge access, you’ll receive
a lounge information guide at check-in.
The lounge is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,
with breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. (until 11:00 on weekends),
afternoon tea from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.,
and evening cocktails from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Even outside breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour,
you can stop by anytime for tea, sparkling drinks, and
a few light snacks as much as you like.
You can also reserve
the meeting room for one hour per day,
and they’ll even shine your shoes if needed.
The lounge itself feels
nice enough, though the interior isn’t especially stunning—
just clean, comfortable, and polished.

2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A lot of people book this Sofitel Macau afternoon tea specifically
when they reserve Sofitel Macau.
This is exactly why!!
Once you’re seated during afternoon tea,
they automatically bring out the Eiffel Tower stand.
The desserts are arranged on two tiers,
and the selection changes a little from day to day,
but in my experience, the lower tier was usually better.
Fruit comes with it too, and for tea or coffee,
you can simply order whatever you want.
The coffee and drink menu looks like this,
and you can help yourself to soda whenever you want.
If you need a cup of ice, just ask.
The window side is pretty backlit,
so photos taken with the indoor setting
actually came out prettier for me.
During our four-night stay, the fruit plate was
almost always the same, but it was sweet and really good.
Since you can only use it for two hours a day,
make sure to time your visit well.
As long as you arrive before 4:30, they’ll still serve it.
Both of our rooms had river views,
so I actually liked that the lounge faced the city side instead.
From the lounge, you can look toward the Ruins of St. Paul’s
and watch just how crowded it gets.
Lounge breakfast
Weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Weekends 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Breakfast is available at Mistral on the 6th floor
or at Club Millésime on the 17th floor,
but we only went to Mistral on the first day
and ate in the lounge every day after that.
I’m not someone who eats a huge breakfast,
and the lounge had pretty much everything I wanted anyway,
including made-to-order eggs from the egg station.
There was bread, rice, noodles, sausage, meat, salad,
cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheese, and more—
the breakfast spread was actually quite varied.
These are some of the plates I had over several days.
As you’d expect from a French brand, the bread was especially good.
Happy hour, or evening cocktails
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
There’s an alcohol happy hour every evening,
and I do wish it ran a little later,
since it falls into that awkward time when you’re deciding on dinner.
Still,
the food spread is generous enough
that it can honestly work as dinner.
Afternoon tea was usually pretty relaxed,
but during evening cocktails, there was sometimes a wait
because so many people came.
If you want to eat without waiting, try going
a little early, between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.
It was hard to get a table for four, so my husband and I
ended up sitting separately from my parents.
There’s wine and beer,
and the bartender will also make cocktails to order.
The drink list includes cocktails, mocktails, whisky, brandy, rum, gin,
vodka, tequila, and more.
A few of the cocktails even looked great enough for a photo moment.
I was pregnant at the time, so I had to order a mocktail.
There was only one mocktail option,
but thankfully it was sweet and tasty.
There were also quite a few hot dishes,
plus desserts, snacky bites,
fruit, and plenty of filling options.
Honestly, you could save on one dinner bill here.
The food wasn’t quite restaurant-level,
but overall it was solid and definitely good enough.
Since this hotel already offers great value,
if you want to enjoy a real hotel stay during your Macau trip,
I’d absolutely recommend booking a room with lounge access.
