Swissotel Nankai Osaka Review: Lounge Afternoon Tea & Breakfast

Swissotel Nankai Osaka lounge review

Swissotel Nankai Osaka lounge review: afternoon tea and breakfast

If you’re staying at Swissotel Nankai Osaka, right above Nankai Namba Station in Osaka, Japan, the executive lounge is one of the best perks. Since this is a five-star hotel, it comes with a proper Executive Lounge, and it’s located on the 33rd floor.

For my room review, check the post below.

Swissotel Nankai Osaka Lounge Review: Basic Info

The Swissotel Executive Lounge is open from

07:30 to 20:00, and the service changes depending on the time of day.

In the morning, there’s breakfast; in the afternoon, afternoon tea;

and in the evening, you can enjoy evening cocktails.

Lounge access is available to Accor Platinum members and above,

or guests staying in an Executive Room or Suite.

For the rest of the lounge details,

you can refer to the information sheet above.

And this isn’t directly related to the lounge,

but I got this information sheet at the same time, so I’m including it here.

If you’re an Accor Platinum member or higher,

you can also enjoy The Platinum Hour at Bar36 on the 36th floor.

It runs during the same hours as the lounge’s evening cocktail service,

so you can either choose one

or split your time and do both.

It includes unlimited drinks and canapés,

and even though I was eligible, I didn’t have time to go.

There’s just too much to do outside in Osaka.

There’s a staircase connecting floors 32 through 34,

so you can get to and from the lounge quickly

without waiting for the elevator.

Other floors don’t have this setup.

I stopped by the lounge before check-in.

My room wasn’t ready yet, so I used it for a bit,

and it happened to be afternoon tea time, which worked out perfectly.

The lounge isn’t huge,

so I could see there being a bit of a wait during evening cocktails.

Overall, it has a cozy, calm atmosphere.

The city view outside the window is definitely worth a look.

First things first, I fed my baby.

Afternoon Tea 14:30 ~ 16:00

Here’s a look at what was available

during afternoon tea in the Swissotel Executive Lounge.

There were a few cookies and chocolates,

some mini cakes,

plus juice and tea.

The only slight downside was that

you had to make your own coffee from the machine.

Just a simple little sweet break.

Breakfast 07:30 ~ 10:00

During my three-night stay, I used the lounge breakfast once.

The lounge breakfast is served in a semi-buffet format.

You can order a few made-to-order items,

including eggs and brunch-style dishes.

At the self-serve bar, there was a Japanese-style morning bento, rice, and soup,

along with a nice variety of salad ingredients,

sausages, fried items, and bread,

as well as fruit, yogurt, and cereal.

The same cookies from afternoon tea were still there too.

I grabbed some salad, bread, and fruit,

and the Japanese bento was better than expected too.

My baby can’t eat this kind of food yet,

but definitely looked interested.

So the baby just got a raw carrot instead.

The breakfast at Table36 was good too,

but I really liked having a quieter breakfast in the lounge.

There are fewer choices than the main breakfast restaurant,

but if you’re not the type to eat a huge breakfast first thing in the morning,

the lounge spread is more than enough.

I never made it to evening cocktails because I was always out

shopping and exploring around Osaka,

but from the reviews I’ve seen,

the night view is beautiful, the food is pretty solid,

and there’s a good selection of alcohol too. Such a shame I missed it.

If I go back to Osaka, I’d absolutely stay at Swissotel again,

and next time I’m definitely trying it.

Even if you don’t have Accor membership,

the lounge at Swissotel Osaka is worth it,

so I’d recommend booking an Executive Room

so you can really enjoy the lounge benefits.
