Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh Review: 2-Bedroom Pool Villa for a Family Trip in Nha Trang, Vietnam

Here’s my detailed review of the 2-bedroom pool villa at Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh, one of the best places we stayed for a family trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam with a baby.

Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh, Nha Trang
7-Night Review of the 2-Bedroom Pool Villa

If you’re planning a family trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam with kids, Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranhreally is an easy one to recommend.

This was a big multigenerational trip with everyone from grandpa down to the youngest grandchild, and yes, we paid for this stay ourselves. We chose it as our home base, and after staying for 7 nights, every single person in our group was happy with it—so I can recommend it with confidence.

Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh
Plot D 12 Abc, Cam Lâm, Khánh Hòa 057615, Vietnam

It’s only about a 10-minute drive from Cam Ranh International Airport near Nha Trang, so getting there is incredibly easy.

A lot of Nha Trang flights arrive late at night, and that was the case for us too, so we checked in after dark. The resort also runs an airport pickup service, which I’ll cover in detail in a separate post.

We were traveling with a 5-month-old baby, and this is a genuinely kid-friendly resort. Even the lobby was decorated with child-friendly characters, and the colorful umbrella display immediately caught the kids’ attention.

If you look at the resort map first, you’ll see two large buildings at the top of the property in the photo: the one on the left is the residence building, and the one on the right is the main hotel building with the reception lobby.

In front of those, stretching all the way toward the beach, are rows of pool villas. There are a lot of them—and yes, the villa section is huge.

Room Rates

If you search based on the Chuseok holiday period in September, when a lot of people travel, the pool villa starts at around $283 per nightand can be even cheaper during the off-season.

In Seoul, even a standard hotel room for a staycation can easily run over $354 a night, so getting an entire pool villa for around $283 feels like a steal. Honestly, this is exactly the kind of value that makes Southeast Asia travel so appealing.

For reference, the difference between the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom options is simply whether you get access to one bedroom or both bedrooms inside the same villa. It’s the exact same villa layout. If you book the 1-bedroom version, they just lock the smaller room.

At the very bottom of this post, I’ll share a link where you can grab up to 7% off overseas accommodations through Yeogi Eottae, so keep reading to the end.

2-Bedroom Pool Villa

When we booked the pool villa, we specifically asked for a quiet location and were assigned Villa 304. On the resort map above, it’s in the area labeled CHONG.

Each villa has its own front gate, and then a separate front door inside.

Since we checked in at night, some of the photos are pretty dark, but I’ll mix in daytime photos too so you can get a better sense of the space.

First up is the living room. It may not look that dramatic in partial photos, but in person it felt seriously spacious.

From the opposite side by the window, it looks like this. It connects directly to the kitchen, and there’s a large sofa and table in the middle.

The TV felt a little small compared to the size of the living room, and next to it was an open display shelf. It had ceramic decor pieces on it, so since we were traveling with babies, we moved everything out of sight just in case.

Once the shelves were empty, they actually became super useful for storing all our random stuff.

There was also a welcome food setup in the room. I’m not sure if this is standard for everyone or because we’re Accor Diamond members, but if you mention a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion when booking, there’s a good chance you’ll get something similar even without elite status.

We were a family of 9 including the babies, so we booked both the 2-bedroom pool villa and a suite in the hotel building, then used this villa as our basecamp.

During the day, the whole family hung out at the villa, and in the evening one family would head back to the hotel room to shower and sleep.

At first we considered a 3-bedroom pool villa, but there are fewer of those and the price jumps up pretty quickly. If you’re traveling with multiple families like we were, I’d definitely recommend the villa + hotel room combo. It worked really well for us.

The living room and bedrooms were both huge, and the dining table was large enough that even with 9 family members plus 2 babysitters, it never felt overly cramped.

The kitchen was also spacious, the fridge was large, and there was plenty of storage, which made this a very comfortable setup for a longer stay.

Master King Room

Let me show you the two bedrooms one by one. First is the master room with the king bed, which is where the three of us stayed.

As soon as you walk in, this is what you see on the right: the bed in the center, a cozy armchair, and across from the bed a wide desk that also works as a vanity.

There’s also a very large dressing room along the left wall in the photo above. Storage is excellent, and you can close the dressing room door too.

It doesn’t look enormous in photos, but the king bed was actually very wide in person, and we were really happy with the bedding. Open those curtains and you’re looking straight out at the pool.

This is the view—and it’s so good. The living room and both bedrooms all have direct access to the pool.

We requested a crib in advance, and they set it up right next to the bed. There was also a ceramic decoration above the crib, so I moved that to a safer spot too.

The master bathroom was huge, but somehow I don’t have a full wide shot of it. The bathroom alone felt almost the size of a compact Japanese hotel room. It had double sinks, a wide counter, a toilet, a separate shower booth, and a bathtub, so it felt very roomy and easy to use.

The shower amenities were from a brand called YUNI, which I hadn’t seen before, but they were perfectly decent.

Twin Bedroom

This was the second bedroom, the twin room my parents used. It sits across the living room from the master, so the layout gives each room a nice sense of privacy without people constantly crossing paths.

This room was also very spacious. Even though it’s a twin room, each bed was pretty large—honestly, in Japan they’d probably be considered double beds.

And just like the master, you can open the window and step right out to the pool. The blue water and sky outside looked so pretty.

The closet was large, the vanity was large, and there was even a fan placed in the room.

Since we had two babies under one year old, we requested two cribs and they set one up in this room as well.

You’ll also find flip-flops for use around the resort and beach towels for swimming. If you need extra towels or anything else, you can request them through the Mövenpick app and they bring them quickly.

The safe, hair dryer, bathrobes, and plenty of hangers were all well prepared, which made the room very convenient.

Another big plus: each bedroom has its own bathroom. This one had one sink, a shower booth, and a toilet, but no bathtub.

It may look smaller compared to the master bathroom, but it definitely wasn’t cramped.

One more thing—if you’re traveling in Vietnam, bring a shower filter. If you forget, you can buy one at Lotte Mart in Nha Trang.

This wasn’t just a Mövenpick issue. In my experience, water quality in Vietnam is generally not great, and I noticed the same thing in other parts of the country too. After just a day or two, the filter turned yellow enough that we changed it every other day.

Laundry Room + Guest Bathroom

There’s a laundry room right by the entrance, and if you’re staying for a longer trip, having a washing machine is incredibly helpful.

There’s a front-loading washer there, and a wide counter above it. We actually turned that area into a temporary diaper-changing station.

We layered several bath towels to create cushioning, added a diaper pad on top, and it ended up feeling surprisingly comfortable and practical—almost like home.

It is fairly high up, though, so never leave your baby unattended there. For reference, we bought Huggies diapers at Lotte Mart in Nha Trang. Maybe because they’re made for a hot climate, but they felt thin and nice.

There’s also a bathroom inside the laundry room area, which was especially convenient for our babysitters.

Baby Amenities

Baby items you can request include a stroller, crib, and baby bathtub. There may be more, but those are the ones I personally confirmed.

The stroller can be used freely throughout your stay. As far as I know, you can even take it outside the resort. We had brought our own strollers from Korea, but since our baby still couldn’t sit up independently, we borrowed one to use more like a baby seat inside the room.

The baby bathtub was large and really nice. It was also clean, so it didn’t feel gross or questionable at all.

The crib was a Joy model, and it was generously sized—more than enough for a baby under one year old. The sides were high too, so it even seemed secure enough for a baby who had started pulling up to stand.

My daughter must have found it comfortable, because she slept so well in it.

Private Pool at the Villa

Finally, let me show you the private pool that comes with each villa.

One of the best things about booking a Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh pool villa is having your own private pool just for your group. You can swim whenever you want, from morning to night.

I expected the pool to be pretty small since it’s attached to the room, but it was much bigger in person than it looked in photos. It was easily large enough for several adults to enjoy together.

There were also plenty of places to sit and relax around the pool, including a sofa like this and several sunbeds.

Photos by the pool come out so beautifully. The colors really pop—especially if your child is wearing a bright swimsuit like my daughter’s red one. I’d actually recommend vivid colors over neutrals here.

The sunbeds were also really useful when caring for the baby before and after swimming. It was lovely to lie there after sunset once the heat eased up, though you do need to watch out for mosquitoes.

This is what the atmosphere looks like at night. Yes, you can swim at night too—just obviously keep the noise level respectful.

For reference, the deepest part of the pool is 1.2 meters, so it’s not extremely deep. There’s also a simple outdoor shower right next to the pool.

There’s also a tea table beside the pool like this,

and if you book the in-room BBQ party, they clear that table out and bring in a larger dining table setup like this.

I’ll share the in-room barbecue party in a separate post because it deserves its own detailed review.

One day, a tiny kitten wandered over from who knows where.

It was incredibly friendly and kept trying to come inside the room. If we hadn’t had the baby with us, I probably would have let it in—but just to be safe, we only played with it outside.

Overall Review

We stayed in this Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh pool villa for 7 nights, and overall it was a very satisfying experience without any major inconveniences. We’re the type to switch rooms immediately if something feels off, so the fact that we happily stayed all 7 nights says a lot.

We rode around in the buggy with the baby, feeling the breeze,

took naps, swam, and just enjoyed the rhythm of resort life. It was our first overseas trip with a baby, and it became one of those genuinely happy memories I know I’ll keep for a long time.

If you’re looking for where to stay in Nha Trang, Vietnam with kids, definitely put Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh on your shortlist. I especially recommend the pool villa, but the hotel room I’ll cover separately was also impressively spacious and comfortable.

Book Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh

Lately, I’ve actually found Yeogi Eottae really convenient for booking overseas hotels too.

Especially when a property has the “lowest price guarantee” label, Yeogi Eottae has often turned out to be the cheapest option for me.

But wait—don’t book it just yet.

>Yeogi Eottae August Overseas Hotel Coupon Pack<Make sure you download it first. It includes coupons for up to 7% off.

Also, if you’re not booking the pool villa, hotel rooms start from the high $70s per night so if value matters most to you, the main hotel building at Mövenpick is also a great option. It’s still a 5-star hotel, the facilities are excellent, and true to Southeast Asia, the rooms are generously sized.

Hope you have an amazing trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam!
