My husband stayed in Abu Dhabi much longer than I ever did,
so this Abu Dhabi hotel review is based on his stay.

Even though I didn’t stay here myself,
everything I heard made me want to write this with a little extra affection because the service was that good.

He didn’t take any exterior photos,
so I borrowed a few from the official Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi Instagram.

The building has such a distinctive shape that
it really stands out when you’re driving down the main road—definitely one of the more recognizable hotels in Abu Dhabi.

Honestly, I used to associate the Dusit Thani brand with a very Southeast Asia-style image,
and for some reason I had this unfair impression that it might feel a little dated.
But after experiences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi,
my opinion completely changed.

The central lobby atrium is wide open all the way up,
with guest rooms arranged around the sides of the building.

Since only my husband stayed here,
please excuse the limited number of photos and their less-than-perfect quality.

He stayed in a high-floor Junior Suite,
and he even tried his best to film a room video for me, which was honestly kind of adorable.

Because he signed up for the Dusit Gold membership before checking in,
they gave him a very generous welcome gift too.

Since alcohol sales are restricted in the UAE,
it wasn’t champagne but a non-alcoholic apple cider instead.

They also included dates, a Middle Eastern specialty, and a few snacks.

A lot of junior suites are basically just studio-style rooms,
but here, even though it was called a Junior Suite,
the living room and bedroom were separated, and the overall layout felt very spacious.

The decor wasn’t ultra-trendy,
but it had a classic, upscale feel.

We’ve experienced
a pretty wide range of hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi,

and when you look at the full package—service, dining, facilities, room quality, and price—
Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi honestly feels like the best overall value.

Rixos was probably the most impressive, but it was also in a much higher price range.

The bed was large, the bedding was comfortable, and the room condition
was consistently excellent throughout his stay at this Abu Dhabi hotel.

The only small downside was that drinking water came in reusable bottles,
but a lot of hotels do that these days anyway.

There was also a Nespresso machine in the room.

Since it was a suite, the bathroom had double sinks,
which felt hilariously spacious for one person.

There was both a bathtub and a separate shower booth,
which made the bathroom especially convenient.

The amenities were from a brand called Aromatherapy,
which I wasn’t familiar with at first,
but after looking it up, it seemed like a pretty luxurious and expensive brand.

He’s very good at enjoying a solo hotel stay,
and in the photos he looks completely relaxed,
but apparently he was also complaining that he got bored because he had nothing to do.

Since it was a corner room, he got a variety of views from the windows.
Compared with Dubai, the view felt a little more open and sparse.

One side looked out over the Al Jazira football stadium.

He stayed for about ten days and changed rooms once,
because there were some noisy foreign tourists in the room next door.
When he mentioned it to the front desk,
they were extremely apologetic and kindly moved him to another room.

There’s a rooftop pool on the 23rd floor.
It’s not at the absolute top of the building,
but set into the middle of the upper structure.

Maybe because it was so hot during the day, there was barely anyone there.
He said he would occasionally lie out for a bit just to tan.

I don’t have photos, but there’s also a pool bar.

There’s a gym too, though I’m not sure which floor it’s on.
Its operating hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Next time I need to go myself and add more details.

The funny part is that somehow
my husband ended up becoming friendly with the manager at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi,
and he was treated incredibly well for the entire stay.

The very kind Khaliddeserves a lot of credit.
He was a wealthy Arab gentleman with four children,

and he even took my husband on a tour around different parts of the hotel
and showed him his own room too.

One day, he even arranged a complimentary restaurant dinner.

That night happened to be Italian Night,
so it was an Italian buffet dinner.
He said the taste was just okay,

but still, it was a great perk since going out to buy every single meal would have gotten tiring.

Sometimes he also ordered Korean fried chicken delivery,
and other times he went to a nearby mall to eat.

He did say the breakfast restaurant
didn’t have many options that really suited a Korean palate,
but he absolutely loved the club lounge.

I’m not sure which floor it was on, but it was located high up in the building:
the Dusit Club Lounge.

Hardly anyone used it, so it always felt quiet and spacious.
I honestly don’t know how they keep it running.

My husband said he worked from here almost every day.

During the day, they had simple breads, snacks,
plus coffee, tea, and other drinks.
In the evening, it turned into more of a happy hour buffet.

This was probably the dinner buffet setup.

Instead of the usual light bites you get after dinner,
it wasn’t your typical club lounge happy hour at all—
it felt like a proper buffet meal.

There weren’t that many hot dishes,
but there was plenty that could easily work as a full meal.

He genuinely loved the evening lounge spread,
and I could feel his excitement through KakaoTalk messages.

He said the desserts were delicious too,
and that it would have been even better if I’d been there with him—which made me a little sad to miss it.

When he traveled to Abu Dhabi,
his birthday was just around the corner,

and somehow the hotel found out and threw him a birthday celebration.
I’m guessing they saw his birth date on his passport and prepared it in advance.

Mr. Khalid and several staff members
showed up while he was working in the lounge
and suddenly started singing “Happy Birthday.”

They were absolute pros at surprise events.

It would have been even better if I’d been there too.

When he went back to the room, they had decorated it with HBD touches,

and left snacks, gifts, and even a birthday card.

Even my very rational husband was genuinely moved.
The cake they gave him was elegant, generously sized,
and so good that he said it felt like a waste to eat it alone.

They kept sending so many thoughtful extras throughout the stay
that he couldn’t even finish everything.

Even he said he had no idea
why they were treating him so well,
but he came back feeling incredibly cared for, and I was grateful just hearing about it.

Maybe it was because he was staying long-term, or maybe they simply took extra care of a polite solo guest—but either way, it left such a good impression.

When a hotel treats you this well,
it’s hard not to come back on your next trip.

Even looking through other reviews,
I kept seeing people mention how great the service was, so maybe this is just what they’re known for.

A lot of people stop in Abu Dhabi
on the way to their honeymoon, and I’d definitely recommend Dusit Thani.
