Sofitel Macau Breakfast Review: Mistral Buffet at a 5-Star Hotel on the Macau Peninsula
We stayed at Sofitel Macau for five nights during our trip to Macau.
Since we booked a Club Room, breakfast was available either in the lounge
or at the 6th-floor breakfast restaurant. We could use both,
but we really don’t like crowded, hectic spaces,
so we only tried the main breakfast restaurant on the first day,
and after that we stuck with Club Millésime Lounge the whole time.
Mistral breakfast restaurant
At Sofitel Macau, breakfast is served on the 6th floor
at a restaurant called Mistral,
and the hours are 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (until 11:00 a.m. on weekends).

On the way to the breakfast restaurant~
Inside atmosphere
You check your room number before going in.
The space is pretty large, with lots of tables further inside,
but that also means there are a lot of people..!
The first day I went was a Saturday,
so that may have made it worse, but there really weren’t many open seats.
We ended up at one of the long communal tables,
basically eating shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers ^_^
After that, we used the lounge, while my parents kept going to the breakfast restaurant,
and they said weekdays were a little better.
Food selection
The breakfast is buffet-style, and the variety is honestly huge.
Since Sofitel is a French hotel brand, the bread section was especially strong,
and the quality was genuinely good.
There were lots of sweet pastries,
which I don’t usually go for,
but hey, I was on vacation, so I loaded up anyway.
Cold cuts. They were covered with mesh lids, which made everything feel nice and hygienic.
You can also grab your own coffee here.
In the lounge, they make the coffee for you and bring it to your table,
so the self-serve setup in the breakfast restaurant was a tiny bit disappointing.
There was a nice variety of fruit too,
and I think there were two separate juice stations.
And of course, no breakfast spread is complete without cereal.
The fried rice and stir-fried noodles were lightly seasoned but still tasty.
There were egg dishes too,
plus Taiwanese breakfast items like youtiao and warm soy milk.

But by that point, opening every single lid
and taking photos of everything was just not happening ^_^
Besides the dessert-style pastries near the entrance,
there was also a separate selection of breads that felt more fitting for an actual breakfast.
Plus fruit jam and butter.
Interestingly, they even had candy,
and I had to wonder… do people really eat this first thing in the morning?
Next up, the noodle station!
There were lots of noodle options, plus a good range of ingredients and toppings.
It always feels like a waste to skip made-to-order dishes at a hotel breakfast,
so of course I ordered a bowl of noodles too.
There was an egg station as well.
You could order fried eggs, omelets, scrambled eggs, and more.
What I ate
I definitely went back for a few plates,
but while putting this post together, I realized I barely took any plate photos.
This is the only one I have..
Anyway, the food wasn’t exactly top-tier luxury,
but overall it was solid,
and because there’s so much variety, if you’re staying several days,
it would be fun to mix and match different things each morning.
I’ve heard people jokingly call this place “Bread-fitel” because the pastries are so good,
so definitely try a few kinds of bread while you’re here.
Lunch & dinner buffet
We only came for breakfast,
but they also run lunch and dinner buffetshere too!
Lunch hours are 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Dinner hours are 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The regular lunch price is 288 MOP,
which is about $36,
but if you buy your voucher in advance through KKday,
you can get it for around $23, which is a seriously good deal.
Dinner is similar—the regular price is 488 MOP,
about $61, but you can buy a voucher for around $39.
If I had known it was possible to do it this affordably,
I definitely would have tried it for at least one day. Kind of a shame I missed it.
When we visited, they were running an Oyster Sensation
dinner buffet,
but the theme can change by season,
so it’s worth checking in advance before you go.
