Korean Air Prestige Lounge West Garden Review: How to Use the Shower at Incheon Airport Terminal 2

Korean Air Prestige Lounge West Garden Review: How to Use the Shower at Incheon Airport Terminal 2

A lot of people are probably planning overseas trips for the Lunar New Year holiday, right?

I’ve written about the Korean Air lounges at Incheon Airport Terminal 2 pretty much every time I’ve used them,

but this was my first time actually checking out the shower room, so I wanted to share how it works.

This was from my visit last September.

Korean Air Prestige Lounge West Garden Location at Incheon Airport Terminal 2

The locations of the Korean Air lounges are shown in the photo above.

The West Garden lounge I used

is directly across from Gate 218.

This is what the entrance looks like,

and you can take either the stairs or the elevator up to the second floor.

I was flying Prestige Class this time,

but you can also access the lounge with a Morning Calm voucher.

It was the Christmas season, so my daughter was dressed in red

and insisted on holding her own ticket.

There was a Christmas tree by the entrance, so of course I had to snap a photo.

Inside the Lounge: Atmosphere and Seating

Both the West Garden and East Garden lounges

have an open ceiling design, so they feel

even more spacious than they actually are.

There’s a buffet area for food,

and a really nice-looking bar off to one side.

I got lucky and found a roomy seat right away, so we grabbed it immediately.

Since I was traveling with a baby, I took a quick look to see if they had a high chair,

but I didn’t spot one, so I just skipped it.

I’m not 100% sure whether they don’t have baby chairs at all,

but if they do, they definitely weren’t placed anywhere obvious.

We didn’t have that much time to stay in the lounge anyway,

so I just sat my baby on the sofa.

Thankfully, the nursing room and diaper changing station

were both well set up!

Inside the nursery room, there’s a sink,

a changing table, and a sofa for nursing.

How to Use the Shower Room at Korean Air West Garden Lounge

The Korean Air West Garden lounge

has shower rooms. I think there were two of them.

You make a reservation at the kiosk

right outside the shower entrance.

When it’s your turn,

you’ll get a KakaoTalk message like this.

Then you just enter the “Your number” shown there

and go in.

No one was waiting when I went,

so I made a reservation just to take a look around.

The shower room is seriously spacious.

It’s nice having the whole space to yourself.

Since it’s a shared facility, there’s a note asking you to finish your shower and get ready within 20 minutes as a courtesy,

but honestly… is 20 minutes enough for women with long hair?

That said, it’s not like the door suddenly opens

the second 20 minutes are up. Of course not.

There’s a toilet inside, and the shower booth is right next to it.

They also provide plenty of towels.

This is what the inside of the shower looks like,

and they have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

There’s even a non-slip bath mat.

Inside the shower room, they also have a hair dryer, razor, shaving cream,

body lotion, and basically most of the essentials you’d need,

so if you want to shower, reserve it as soon as you enter the lounge!

Korean Air Prestige Lounge Food

Nothing here was amazingly delicious, but the Korean Air lounge does have

a decent selection for a quick meal.

That said, Matina definitely has better food ^_^

I went hard on the frozen mango.

There were a few not-so-healthy options too.

Bread and fruit.

There were lots of spreads for the bread too,

including peanut butter, Nutella, butter, and strawberry jam.

As a kimbap lover, I was happy to see kimbap there.

More bread and cereal.

Coffee and two kinds of cup ramen.

For reference, the cup ramen is only available in the Garden lounges,

not in the East Lounge. That one has janchi-guksu (Korean banquet noodles) instead… not ramen.

They had regular milk, low-fat milk,

and chocolate milk too!

I should’ve grabbed a chocolate milk.

And of course, you can’t leave out bibimbap, right?

Next time, if I have more time, I’m going to mix up a proper bowl of bibimbap

and eat it with all these side dishes.

And I’d have to get some miyeok-guk (seaweed soup) with it too.

Korean Air already switched its in-flight tableware to Armani/Casa,

and all the lounge dishes are Armani/Casa now too.

This is roughly what I ended up eating…

and the taste was just okay.

This was the alcohol menu,

and I ordered a glass of Heineken draft beer.

I didn’t even have time to finish everything,

but the beer was cold and hit the spot.

My little one also chugged a bottle of formula in the lounge!

We only had time to rest for a bit,

then we rushed off to catch our flight.
