Korean Air KE2147 Prestige Class Review: Incheon to Okinawa with a 9-month-old baby
This was our third international trip with our baby!
Once again, we flew Korean Air Prestige Class.
Here’s my review of flight KE2147 from Incheon to Okinawa.

Daddy, where are we going this time?
Korean Air Prestige Class review check-in at Incheon Airport
The Korean Air Prestige check-in counter
is at Counter A in Incheon Airport Terminal 2.

Counter A isn’t open to the rest of the terminal,
and with the walls around it, it feels a lot more private.

Inside, though, it looks pretty much like the other counters.
If you’re Morning Calm Premium or a Million Miler,
you can still check in quickly at Counter A
even when flying economy.
Maybe one day I’ll make it to Morning Calm Premium too…!

Are you getting used to airports now?
Incheon to Okinawa KE2147 flight review
Flight KE2147 was scheduled to depart at 2:35 PM.

The aircraft was an A321neo,
but the safety card used the broader A321-200 designation.

The A321neo Prestige cabin only has 8 seats.
Since it’s a smaller aircraft with just eight business-class seats,
you’ll probably want to book early if you want Prestige Class.

The Prestige seat type on this plane is the Sleeper 2.0.
It’s less private than the Suite seat,
so there were a couple of things I liked less,
but for a short Japan route, it was more than good enough.

Our seats were 8D and 8E, and we had three window panels beside us.

When you’re flying with a baby,
getting a photo of a perfectly tidy seat is basically impossible… haha.

In the middle of organizing all our stuff,
we still managed to get our welcome drinks and pretzels.

Once we were settled in, we took a couple of commemorative photos with the baby.
And yes, my little one was trying to chew on the partition…
Prestige Sleeper 2.0 seat review

The Prestige Sleeper 2.0 seat
comes with a 17-inch monitor and reclines fully flat to 180 degrees.
There’s also plenty of storage tucked around the seat, which was nice.

The remote control and seat control panel.

There’s also a wireless charging pad,
but because I had a phone grip attached, it didn’t charge very well.
If you place just the phone on it, it should work fine.

USB charging ports and the headset.

The partition between the two seats is actually pretty high,
but it’s fixed in place and the height can’t be adjusted ^_^

For some reason, the outer armrest lowers down.

The tray table is wide, and there’s even a phone stand, which was great.
In-flight meal on Korean Air Prestige Class

Here’s a look at the in-flight meal menu on the Incheon to Okinawa route.

The onboard meal choices were two options:
Korean-style spicy beef bulgogi,
or Western-style seafood gnocchi.

The three pre-order meal options were Thai chicken curry,
fried shiitake mushrooms in gochujang sauce,
and couscous with roasted vegetables.
We chose the spicy beef bulgogi and the shiitake mushroom gangjeong!

The wine list.

Cocktails, whiskey, beer, and other drinks were listed here too.

This was the fried shiitake mushrooms in gochujang sauce.
It came with a doenjang soup made with aehobak greens and some seaweed on the side.

Since it was called gangjeong, I expected a thick crispy batter,
but it was really just the mushrooms themselves, lightly fried without a heavy coating.
The mushrooms were plump, springy, and satisfyingly chewy, and the sauce was delicious.
If you normally like mushrooms, I’d definitely recommend this one.

This was the spicy beef bulgogi meal.

I didn’t eat that one myself, but I was told it was really good.
Flying business class with a baby

Our daughter was 9 months old on the day of the flight.
She had already flown four times before this,
and she did great on all four flights without crying,
so I wasn’t too worried this time either.
The Incheon to Okinawa flight is only about two hours,
so Okinawa, Japan is actually a pretty manageable destination with a baby.

We don’t usually do screen time,
but on planes she always ends up watching the in-flight safety video.
I think she finds it fascinating, because she watches it so intently.

Dad’s custom takeoff position.
Surprisingly, she stayed like this just fine.

As soon as we reached cruising altitude,
we reclined the seat and laid the baby down.
Apparently her ears didn’t bother her at all, because she happily wiggled around and played during the flight.

She also carefully studies the in-flight menu every single time… haha.

She has to pull out every booklet in the seat pocket, of course.

After the meal, we both lay down and took a little nap.
The seat isn’t especially wide,
but lying sideways, it was just enough space for the baby and me to rest together.

A quick peek out the window as we arrived.
The weather was bright and clear, and I was already in a great mood.

Landing usually hurts your ears more than takeoff,
and babies often cry more during descent,
but she seemed totally unfazed. Maybe she trained for this in the womb…

Before getting off the plane,
we gave her a little reward for being such a good flyer: 30 seconds of Pororo.
She loved it way too much… dangerous.

Anyway, the flight attendants were kind,
and even the passengers around us smiled and were sweet about the one or two little squeaks our baby made.
That made the whole flight feel especially comfortable and pleasant.
I’ll be posting a separate review for our return flight, KE2148!
