Anto Resort Review: Best Room Types for a Seoul Staycation With a 12-Month-Old

Anto Resort Review: Best Room Types for a Seoul Staycation With a 12-Month-Old

We recently did a Seoul staycation with our 12-month-old,

in Ui-dong, Gangbuk-gu, at Anto Resort, and honestly, it was such a good pick.

It was only a quick 1-night, 2-day staycation, but if you travel with a baby, you already know the packing somehow starts to look like you’re leaving for an international trip.

Anto Resort is a genuinely kid-friendly resort, with a wide range of baby gear available to rent, which takes a lot off your packing list. There’s also a kids’ lounge, so you don’t need to bring a suitcase full of toys either.

That’s why I’d absolutely recommend it for a Seoul staycation with a baby. Even if you’re not traveling with kids, it still works beautifully for a couples’ or married getaway thanks to the pool, outdoor jacuzzi, gym, high-quality buffet, and other resort facilities.

Anto
689 Samyang-ro, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, South Korea, Anto

Anto is technically a resort in Seoul, South Korea, but it feels like you’ve escaped to the mountains somewhere far outside the city. Instead of concrete towers and traffic, you’re surrounded by dense trees and forest, which makes it an incredibly relaxing place to recharge.

Basic Information

Address: 689 Samyang-ro, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Check-in starts at 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM.

Free parking is available, and there’s a Starbucks, convenience store, and walking trail inside the resort.

If you’re driving, parking is of course free for guests. If you’re using public transportation, it’s also easy to reach since the resort is just a 3-minute walk from Bukhansan Ui Station.

Anto isn’t a single-building hotel but a full resort,so the property is spread across several buildings.

When you enter the resort, a staff member checks whether you’re a member or non-member and directs you to the right check-in desk. Members and non-members check in at different locations. We booked a regular non-member stay and checked in at Building 103.

There are parking levels on B1 and B2. B1 connects to all buildings, while B2 only connects to the main building, Building 114, so I recommend parking on B1 if possible.

If you’re only visiting Woody Plate restaurant without staying overnight, B2 is fine too.

Anto Resort Price

Room rates at Anto Resort in Seoul start in the low $100s on weekdays for the entry-level room (Cabin Junior) on a room-only basis, but on weekends even the basic room can jump to around $300–$400.

If the cost of a staycation feels a little steep, there is a way to book it for less. Use Yeogi Eottae’s same-day dealoption.

As the name suggests, Yeogi Eottae same-day deals are for booking a stay on the actual day of check-in. Rather than leaving rooms empty, hotels often release unsold inventory at a heavily discounted rate.

And if you’re booking through Yeogi Eottae, don’t forget to grab the June accommodation coupon packas well.

If a same-day stay doesn’t work for you, compare prices on other booking sites too and go with the lowest rate. When I booked, Agoda had the best price, so that’s what I used.

Room Types

If you line up the Anto room categories by size and average price, the order goes: Cabin Junior < Cabin < Timber Junior < Timber < Timber Suite < Premier Timber Suite < Pine Suite < Pine Family Suite. I also organized the key features of each room below.

Room Type

Size

Layout and Features

Cabin Junior

11 pyeong

Studio-style room with one king bed. There’s also a Cabin Junior kids room option.

Cabin

13 pyeong

Also a studio-style room, but slightly larger, with a sofa at the foot of the bed.

Timber Junior

20 pyeong

Includes a separate bonus room apart from the bedroom area. One king bed + one single bed. Standard occupancy: 2 guests.

Timber

20 pyeong

Separate living room and bedroom. The living room has a large sofa, and the bedroom has one king bed. Standard occupancy: 2 guests.

Timber Suite

26 pyeong

Separate living room and bedroom. The living room has a large sofa and dining table, and the bedroom has two double beds. Standard occupancy: 2 guests.

Timber Suite Kids

26 pyeong

Same room as the Timber Suite, but with children’s play equipment in the living room instead of a dining table.

Premier Timber Suite

26 pyeong

Similar to the Timber Suite, but with a private hinoki cypress bath in the room.

Pine Suite

47 pyeong

Living room + 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms. Standard occupancy: 4 guests. One king bed + two double beds.

Pine Family Suite

47 pyeong

Living room + 3 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms. Standard occupancy: 6 guests. One low bed king + three double beds.

If you’re staying with a baby, I’d recommend booking at least a Timber Junior. Cabin Junior and Cabin are true studio rooms with no separation, so once your child falls asleep, it’s hard for the parents to move around freely.

Even though Timber Junior has that extra bonus room, I personally recommend the Timber room or higher, where the bedroom and living room are fully separated. That’s what we booked this time, and it worked so well. We put the baby down in the bedroom, then relaxed in the living room, watched TV, and had late-night snacks.

Check-In

We arrived right around 3 PM and checked in immediately. Even though it was a Saturday, the line was short, so the process was quick.

While dad handled check-in, the baby waited on the sofa and played.

Our room was assigned in the same building where we checked in, Building 103. That building has six guest room floors in total.

We stayed in Room 507, and our room type was the Timber room.

Anto Timber Room Review

First, take a look at the overall room layout in the video.

As soon as you open the door, you walk into a spacious living room. The flooring is wood rather than carpet, which felt much cleaner and better for a baby.

We were on the 5th floor, which sounds low compared to a high-rise hotel, but that actually meant we had a close-up view of the green pine trees outside. The trees covered the windows so well that the living room barely even needed curtains.

There’s a TV directly across from the large sofa.

One thing to note if you’re planning a Seoul staycation with a baby: there are quite a few hard corners around the living room, so you’ll want to keep an eye on your child.

The space partially visible to the left of the TV is the dressing room, and that area is also separated with a sliding door.

Inside the dressing room, there’s a refrigerator and a shelf for setting things down, with a hanging rack and drawers on the right.

That shelf ended up being incredibly useful as our baby feeding station.

The cabinet is stocked with mugs, wine glasses, tea bags, and coffee.

The hanging space is very generous, and there are plenty of hangers, so it would work well even for a longer stay. The drawers underneath also make it easy to unpack and organize your clothes.

There’s a separate luggage rack too, but we just opened our suitcase on top of the dresser and used it that way.

Moving into the bedroom, there’s one large king bed and a TV mounted on the opposite wall. There are bedside tables on both sides, which made it easy to keep our phones nearby.

The mattress had just the right amount of softness, and the bedding felt fresh and clean. I’d seen older reviews mentioning inconsistent housekeeping, but those comments seem to have disappeared lately, so it looks like the room condition is being managed much better now.

The bathroom and toilet are tucked inside the bedroom area. The bathroom is seriously spacious. The toilet and shower booth each have their own door, and there’s also a large soaking tub outside them, so it feels fully equipped.

There are two sinks, two mirrors, and a wide counter around the vanity, so even if you’re traveling with friends or family and everyone has a lot of toiletries, it still feels comfortable.

That said, if you’re staying with a child, the marble corners can be a little risky, so be careful about running and slipping.

In the non-member public rooms, the amenities are from the British brand Gilchrist & Soames. For reference, the membership rooms are stocked with Santa Maria Novella products.

Santa Maria Novella is definitely the more luxurious name, but I actually liked Gilchrist & Soames too because the scent wasn’t overpowering.

Baby Gear Rental

When we made the reservation, we checked the list of baby items available to rent and requested what we needed in advance. The resort offered a crib, bed rail, baby bathtub, bottle sterilizer, step stool, and a child toilet seat cover.

Quantities are limited, so if you need baby gear, it’s best to request it as early as possible when booking to make sure you get it.

First, the crib. I can’t remember the brand, but it was fairly deep and felt secure. Our baby is a little too big to actually sleep in a crib now, but it was still essential as a safe place to set him down for a moment while we unpacked or handled something quickly.

They also lend out a bed rail—the tall gray guard installed on the window side. Since one rail alone didn’t feel quite secure enough for us, we also brought our own Opigow Air Guard.

For the baby bathtub, they provide a Shnuggle tub, and the sterilizer was from Rayqueen.

You can also rent a step stool and a child toilet seat cover.

Resort Information Guide

For anything else related to using the hotel, the printed guide provided by the resort is the most accurate source.

Be sure to check the property map too,

and I photographed each page clearly and one by one so you can zoom in and read whatever information you need.

Final Thoughts

Even though we stayed as non-members, we never felt overlooked or treated differently, and because this is such a kid-friendly resort, we were really happy with the overall experience staying here with our baby.

I’ll share a separate post about it, but the Woody Plate dinner buffet was genuinely delicious. Our baby wasn’t in the best condition this time, so we couldn’t fully enjoy all the facilities, which honestly gives me one more reason to come back and do this staycation properly next time.
