Fairmont The Palm Dubai Review: Best Palm Jumeirah Hotel

If you’re looking for a Dubai hotel on Palm Jumeirah, Fairmont The Palm Dubai ended up being such a solid pick for us.

Today’s post is
the redemption arc after my “Dubai Palm Jumeirah hotel disaster”following that story,
here’s my Dubai hotel recommendation post!

We canceled our original booking and rebooked this place on the spot,
and that’s how we ended up at
Fairmont The Palm Dubai.

The location is right near the entrance to Palm Jumeirah,
on the trunk section of the island.

First off, this is what the hotel looks like from the outside,
and it feels grand right away—large in scale, symmetrical, and impressive.

There’s valet service at the main entrance,
and they take care of all your luggage too.

I saw so many supercars during our stay here,
which honestly made it feel very, very Dubai.

Even among hotels with the same five-star rating, The Retreat Palm Dubaireally
had a tiny lobby and didn’t feel like a true five-star hotel at all,
but at Fairmont the difference was obvious immediately.

Thankfully, we had zero issues here,
and check-in was quick and genuinely friendly.

Since we’d just had that whole mess at the previous hotel,
I even vented a little and told them we had canceled and rushed over here.

It was so hot outside, so I downed the cold welcome drink in one go.

We also got a room upgrade thanks to our Accor membership!

That said, because we booked right before arriving
and most other guests had already
checked in by then, all the ocean-view rooms were sold out.

It’s okay, I’m fine, totally fine… really.

We were assigned a Fairmont Gold room,
on the 9th floor. There are higher floors too,
but this is the floor with the Gold Lounge.

The hallway had this rich gold-toned look—very Middle East in the best way.

This is just here because my husband looked hilarious in the photo.
His expression was the whole point, but once I covered it, it stopped being funny.

One thing I really liked here was that the room entrance
didn’t open directly onto the main hallway.
It was tucked slightly inward,

which made it feel more private.

Our room was the one on the right with the yellow square.

I asked for a quiet room, and they gave us the end room,
which I loved. And even better,
this room had its own little entry area all to itself.

Extra, extra private.

Anyway, let’s start with a quick room tour.

I’m not totally sure of the exact room type,

but aside from the suites, the standard, deluxe, and superior rooms
are all 48 square meters, so the size is the same.
I’m guessing the main difference is the floor level…?

Fairmont The Palm Dubai room rateswere
around $588 and up when we visited,
but when I checked now, low-season rates were down to about $147….

Of course, we visited during Eid,
which is peak high season,

but Dubai hotels really do
swing wildly by season, so in the summer low season
it’s actually a great place to enjoy a luxury hotel stay for much less.

The king-size bed was excellent—big, comfortable, and the bedding felt great.

I still can’t get over how spacious even the base room category is.
After staying in hotels across Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong,
arriving in Dubai feels like heaven in terms of room size.

There was a luggage rack too,

and since we stayed for three nights,
I loved having plenty of space to sit, relax, or bring back food and eat in the room.

There was a Nespresso machine with capsule coffee,
and like many hotels in this area, bottled water came in glass bottles.

The drawers had all the usual extras inside.
I’d never tried Nina’s Tea before, but I ended up really liking that brand.

There’s also a terrace! No ocean view, unfortunately,
but it still felt open and airy, so I didn’t mind it too much.

Still, next time I definitely want an ocean-view room.
The photos look so beautiful.

Quick side note,
the tall building you can see on the left in the GIF

is home to one of Dubai’s most popular attractions, The View at The Palm, and that building is
The Palm Tower.
(I need to write that post too, but why am I this lazy?)

The closet is in a separate small room,

and it came with disposable room slippers, a yoga mat,

shoe polish, a prayer mat for Muslim guests,

a laundry bag, ironing set, safe, and more.

Next up: the bathroom and toilet.
The bathroom layout separates the tub, shower booth, and toilet,

and I really liked this classic Fairmont-style design.

Personally, compared with sleek modern styles like Pullman,
I think I prefer interiors like this.

Maybe because we booked so suddenly,
the disposable amenities weren’t fully set up at first.

There was no toothbrush, and a few other things were missing,
but honestly, that felt understandable.

I left a note before housekeeping came,
and from the next day on, everything was restocked properly.

We were out and about so much
that I never got to use the bathtub, which was a little sad.
The shower amenities here were refillable dispensers too,

from Grown Alchemist.

Inside the toilet room, there was a handheld bidet common in the Middle East and the toilet itself,
and bathrobes were hung across from it.

Overall, I really liked almost everything,
but there was exactly one thing that bothered me:
some cobwebs on top of the standing lamp in the living area.

It felt like the kind of thing that could easily get missed
during routine daily cleaning,
so I just left a note again, and it was spotless the next day.

They also provide lots of printed information,
and since this is a resort-style hotel, there’s a lot going on.

From basic facility information

to dining venues, the kids’ club, gym, spa, and more,
everything is explained in detail.

There were also different activities and events depending on the day, and honestly, this feels like the kind of place where I could stay in and do a full week-long hotel vacation without leaving.
