Cathay Pacific Business Class Review: CX453 & CX410 Incheon to Hong Kong Meals

Cathay Pacific business class meals on CX453 and CX410 from Incheon to Hong Kong

On this latest work trip to Hong Kong, I flew Cathay Pacific round-trip in business class.

This is my full review of both flights, with a special focus on the meals.

For the Incheon to Hong Kong route, I flew CX453

on an A321neo.

My seat was 11K, and unfortunately

it was a recliner rather than a fully flat seat.

Still, since the flight time was under four hours,

I honestly didn’t find it uncomfortable.

The screen was a 15.6-inch 4K display.

I didn’t use it much, but it looked great.

The basic amenities were pretty simple: bottled water, a headset, and slippers.

The seat was a little close to the person next to me,

but you could pull out this divider,

so it never felt awkward or too exposed.

The seat controls were built into the center armrest,

and there was also a small storage compartment under the armrest.

There was a USB-C port too, which made charging my phone really easy.

A quick look at the armrest on the other side too.

Cathay Pacific is known for having good inflight meals,

and after trying it myself, I’d say the reputation is deserved.

For the main, the choices were braised pork belly, cod steak,

or beef bibimbap,

and I went with the braised pork belly.

The drink lineup was surprisingly extensive.

Their signature Cathay Delight is the famous one,

but there were also juices, sodas, coffee, Jing Tea, milk tea, beer,

champagne, wine, whisky, cocktails, and other spirits.

There was a lot to choose from.

As always, I started with a Coke Zero.

The meal started with a salad and shrimp with wasabi mayo.

The shrimp were plump, and the sauce was really good.

The braised pork belly was honestly as satisfying

as something you’d get at a decent restaurant. Great portion, rich flavor, and very well seasoned. I was genuinely happy with this meal.

They also served Lee Kum Kee chili sauce on the side,

which cut through the richness nicely and made it even better.

CX410 Hong Kong to Incheon

This time it was the return flight, CX410.

I think the aircraft was probably a B777-300.

I was a little frazzled and didn’t take many photos,

but the business class seat was honestly pretty bad.

It had a 2-3-2 layout, which meant very little space between passengers,

and the seat itself felt more like a premium bus seat than business class ^_^

The monitor was also noticeably smaller than on the outbound flight.

There wasn’t much storage either, so overall I wasn’t impressed.

That said, the food was still good.

Since this was a morning departure, breakfast was served.

The main choices were scrambled eggs, a dim sum selection,

Korean-style braised beef, or coconut milk oatmeal,

and once again I went with the Hong Kong-style dim sum.

The drink and alcohol menu was the same as on the outbound flight,

but I took another photo anyway.

The fruit was good, by the way.

The dim sum wasn’t bad either, though it wasn’t as memorable as the braised pork belly.

I wasn’t happy with the aircraft, but the food was solid,

so overall it ended up being a perfectly okay flight.
