Café Mozart Review: an elegant Vienna city center café near the Opera House in Vienna, Austria
While I was staying at Hotel Sacher during my trip to Vienna, Austria,
I found out there’s another café in the same building
besides the famous Café Sacher!
It’s Café Mozart,
and apparently some people even come here
thinking it’s Café Sacher at first ^_^
Why Café Mozart Is Worth Visiting in Vienna
Café Mozart in Vienna is located on the corner of the first floor of the Hotel Sacher building,
and the opening hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.!

This is what the exterior looks like,
and honestly, most cafés in central Vienna are beautiful.
It was winter, so the outdoor seats were completely empty because of the cold,
but on a nice day, sitting outside here would be so lovely.

The inside looked like this…
Maybe this is just classic Vienna style, but everywhere I went
had that same old-world, ornate, slightly glittering atmosphere.
And honestly, that’s exactly what I liked about it.

The tables were set fairly close together,
but after visiting a few other cafés, that seemed pretty standard in Europe.

If the wait at Café Sacher is too long,
Café Mozart right next door is a really solid option too.
The interior is especially great if you want pretty photos.

We grabbed a comfortable table and settled in.

I think we went before lunch,
and they had a breakfast menu plus a separate coffee and dessert menu.
Besides breakfast,
they also serve regular lunch and dinner dishes
like schnitzel and more,
and you can check the full menu on Google Maps.
We had already eaten breakfast, so we only looked at the coffee menu.

The cakes looked delicious, and there were so many coffee and drink options
that it actually took us a while to decide.
We ordered a hot Americano and the Mozart chocolate drink.

We didn’t end up ordering cake,
but I still stopped to admire them because the colorful presentation was so pretty.

The slice cakes were priced around 10,000 to 20,000 KRW,
so roughly about $7 to $14 each, which felt a little pricey, but they all looked tempting.

After visiting a few cafés in Vienna, including this one,
I noticed that many of them also sell desserts made with alcohol,
so it’s definitely worth checking before you order!

By the time we finished looking at the desserts, our coffee had arrived.

When you order a hot Americano here,
they serve the espresso shot separately with hot water on the side,
so you can mix it yourself.
Coffee in Vienna really is as good as people say…

This was the Mozart chocolate drink,
and the easiest way to describe it is as a hot chocolate
topped with whipped cream and pistachio syrup.
It also came with one Mozart chocolate on the side.
The hot chocolate and pistachio syrup were definitely sweet,
but thankfully the whipped cream itself wasn’t overly sugary.
I almost never order drinks like hot chocolate at cafés,
but this was such a nice sweet treat for a little sugar boost.
The atmosphere here was lovely, the Google rating is strong,
the location is excellent, and people seem to love the desserts too.
So if you’re looking for a Vienna city center café,
I’d definitely recommend giving Café Mozart a try.
