Mondrian Hong Kong review: a Tsim Sha Tsui hotel with a great location and beautiful views
I recently went to Hong Kong on a business trip,
and this is the Tsim Sha Tsui hotel I booked for my stay: Mondrian Hong Kong.

The location was excellent, the room view was even better,
breakfast was delicious, and the staff were genuinely kind,
so this is absolutely a hotel I’d come back to on my next trip to Hong Kong.

Tsim Sha Tsui hotel review: Mondrian Hong Kong location
It’s right near Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit N1,
so it’s super convenient if you’re getting around by MTR,
and there’s also an elevator down to the subway close by.
From Hong Kong International Airport, you can also take bus A21
and get off at Mody Road,
which leaves you about 30 seconds from Mondrian Hong Kong.
K11 MUSEA, Jenny Bakery, and a bunch of famous restaurants
are all nearby, so the location is honestly ideal for a Hong Kong trip.

This is what the entrance looks like,
and since the hotel opened in 2023, everything still feels very new and clean.
That said, the lobby is really small and was pretty crowded,
and I was juggling a ton of bags, so I didn’t get any photos of it ^_^
Skyline King Room
My room was upgraded thanks to Accor Platinum,
so I got a Skyline King Bed Room,
though I’m not totally sure whether it was the Superior or Premier category.
But since it was on the 33rd floor out of 37,
I’m guessing it was probably a Skyline Premier King Room?

I was assigned room 3305,
and just like in many other places in Asia, Hong Kong doesn’t love the number 4 either, so there was no room 4.
First, take a quick look at the room entry video.

As soon as you insert the room key, the window blinds go up!
For a Hong Kong hotel, the room felt fairly spacious,
and it worked well for one or two people.

The first thing I loved was the view—it was way better than I expected.
The interior was also sleek and pretty, which I really liked.
The king bed was wide and plush, so I slept really well,
and there was a table by the window that was perfect for setting up my laptop.

There was also a welcome gift on the table,
which turned out to be a donut… honestly, it was just okay.

If you want to read the hotel information sheet,
just zoom in on the photo.

There’s a TV across from the bed.

This is what the room looks like when you turn back toward the door.

The bedside table has outlets and lighting controls,
and besides the standard plug, there are USB-A and USB-C
charging ports too, which was really convenient.

Near the entrance, there’s an open clothing rack instead of a closet,
plus a luggage rack for your suitcase.
It was a little small for opening up a large suitcase fully, though, so I just used the floor.
The bathrobes were clean and in great condition,
and inside the drawer below,
there were soft disposable slippers too.

There’s also a safe, a laundry bag,
and even a plug adapter! Love that.

A quick look at the minibar too.
The Evian and wine are, of course, not free.
And instead of bottled water,
the room comes with a water purifier (the machine on the left).
You fill the container with tap water and attach it,
and it filters the water so you can drink it.
I saw a similar purifier at Sofitel Macau before,
though I’m not sure if it was the exact same model.
Personally, I still prefer bottled water, so I just bought my own.

Next to the purifier is the coffee machine,
and capsules are provided too. Those are free.

Everything inside the fridge is paid as well!

They also sell snacks like these.
But since there are plenty of convenience stores right around the hotel,
unless you’re literally trapped in your room, there’s no real reason to buy them here.
Mondrian Hong Kong bathroom

The bathroom itself wasn’t as small as I expected,
but the shower booth was on the narrower side.

Still, unless you’re a very large person,
it’s totally fine for one person to shower comfortably.

Soap and body lotion come in single-use packaging,
while the shampoo and body wash are in refillable bottles.
The amenity brand is Malin+Goetz, and it smells great.
I didn’t take a photo of it, but the hair dryer was pretty good too.
Hong Kong hotel with a great view
Honestly, the view is the whole point of staying at Mondrian Hong Kong!!
If you can, I’d definitely book a Skyline room
so you can really enjoy the view.

This is the view while standing by the window.
There are some tall buildings in front,
but in person, the view still opens up surprisingly well between them.

You can see K11 MUSEA up close from the window,
and farther out, you can spot the skyscraper skyline of Hong Kong Island too.

You can even catch a glimpse of Victoria Harbour between the buildings.

The view is great both day and night,
but Hong Kong really shines after dark.

Working with a view like this somehow makes work feel a lot better.
Breakfast at AVOCA on the 38th floor, HKD 220 per person
Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:30 on weekdays,
and from 6:30 to 11:00 on weekends, so you get an extra 30 minutes.

Since the breakfast restaurant is up on the 38th floor,
the view is even better than the one from the guest rooms.
AVOCA operates as a bar in the evening,
and in the morning, it turns into the breakfast venue.

It’s not a huge restaurant,
so during peak hours, you may have to wait.
If you’re dining solo, though, you can usually sit right away at the bar table.
Window seats are especially popular, so you either need to go early
or get lucky with the timing.

Once you’re seated, they take your coffee order,
and you can order anything you want from the menu.
Not sure what my camera decided to focus on here…

Since the made-to-order dishes are the main event here,
the buffet spread itself isn’t huge.
There’s some bread, a few cold cuts, cereal, and juice.

This was the day I ordered the yogurt bowl and dim sum.
I stayed for four nights, so I got to try several different breakfast dishes,
and honestly, every single one was delicious.
The staff were kind every morning too.
Final thoughts
During my stay, there really wasn’t anything to complain about.
I loved the location, the view, the service, and the food,
and it honestly made me like Hong Kong more as a destination.
Hong Kong wasn’t originally one of my favorite travel destinations,
but this trip really reminded me
how important choosing the right hotel can be.
If I go back to Hong Kong next time,
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mondrian as a Tsim Sha Tsui hotel
and I’d happily stay here again myself.
