If you need a sweet break in Tsim Sha Tsui, this Twist & Buckle Churros stop is such a fun pick.
After wandering around Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong and doing a little luxury window shopping,
we were tired and craving a snack, so we ducked into this popular churros shop.

My husband and I are huge churros people,
so much so that we even order them at home once in a while.
While looking for a snack around Tsim Sha Tsui,
I found out there was a Michelin-recognized dessert shop nearby.

So of course, we went straight there.
It’s a small open-front shop.

They’ve held a Michelin Bib Gourmand for two years in a row.
Honestly, I’ve been disappointed by Michelin and Blue Ribbon picks plenty of times,
so I don’t trust those labels that much anymore.
Still, if I see one, I always end up taking a photo.

There are a few simple tables inside if you want to eat there,
but it was completely packed.
We figured we’d just perch somewhere nearby and eat, but then seats suddenly opened up.
Once we grabbed a spot, I checked the menu.

At this Hong Kong churros spot, prices were
HK$30 for the plain Original (about $4),
HK$40 for a Glazed Churro (around $5),
and HK$68 for a Churro Sundae,
which comes with ice cream and toppings.
Hong Kong prices are seriously no joke.

They also have combo sets if you’re buying a few items.
We ordered the Pistachio Crunch Glazed Churro
and the Cookies & Cream Sundae Churros.

Because the kitchen is open, we could watch them make the churros while we waited.
Even though these menu items use lots of sauces and powders,
they cleaned as they went,
so the whole place felt really hygienic and tidy.
I guess you’d call it a dipping sauce, but either way,
they were incredibly generous with it.

Ta-da — the Cookies & Cream sundae and the pistachio one.
Pretty Instagram-worthy, right?
I normally don’t eat super sweet desserts,
but hey, I was traveling, so I went for it.
They were genuinely sweet, crispy, and delicious,
though the kind of dessert that makes you think about your health while you’re eating it.
Back home, isn’t it almost a universal rule that
the real thing usually looks a little less impressive than the menu photo?
Here, it was the opposite.
They actually loaded on more toppings than what was shown on the menu.

I checked Google Maps photos of their other menu items too,
and everything looked extra in the best way.
A little over-the-top, maybe, but definitely delicious-looking.
Hong Kong trips can be exhausting because you end up walking so much,
so if you’re in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong,
stop by this dessert shop and give yourself a proper sugar boost in the middle of the day.
